"This was one of the most enjoyable, terrifying and freeing painting experiences I have ever had! The objective was to not mix any paint on the palette. Only pure color was to be laid on the canvas, and even then, no brushwork was to be blended. This style requires spontaneity, courage, and the willingness to "not get it right". So yes, this terrified me! And yet, it brought an incredible amount of joy to watch what happened each time I laid a brushstroke of bold color. Undoubtedly this study taught me far more than a painting style!"

This is a practice piece (aka: Study) that I did, focused on a specific painting technique. The sides of the canvas are painted black, and it comes ready to hang as is or you can choose to frame it to match your decor. No glass necessary, all paint and varnish are archival, but it's always best not to place artwork in direct sunlight. This piece will look best under warm indoor lighting.
